God is a woman? Aug 5

Okay I can't say this enough but I LOVE Edinburgh. I don't think I have stopped smiling since I've got here! 

SUBJECT LINE: we have these pass along cards that have questions on them like "Is there a God?" "How can I find lasting happiness?" Etc. So we go around having people pick a card and answer the question. This one lady picked "Is there a God" her response was "Yes - Ariana Grande" and walked off. I had no words....

THE WORK this week was soo gooood. There is nothing better than hearing someone you are teaching bear their testimony of the Book of Mormon. One of our Italian friends shared an experience he had while reading, it was POWERFUL. Wow it was just another confirmation that I know the church is true, I know that this is His gospel and that the Book of Mormon can bring you more comfort and peace than anything else in this world. READ IT DAILY. 

This week has helped me realize how privileged I am to live in a country that allows me to worship whom and when I please. This week we met a man who is from a country where religious freedom is a foreign concept. This man, since the age of 16 has literally risked his life for Jesus Christ. He has suffered persecution that is incomprehensible to someone who is born in the US. I am so grateful for this gospel. I have definitely taken advantage of the freedom I have to follow and live it. 

This last week I was studying Elder Bednar's talk he gave in October 2014 addressed especially to those not of our faith. He states... 

"When we invite you to attend church with us or to learn with the full-time missionaries, we are not trying to sell you a product. As members of the Church, we do not receive prizes or bonus points in a heavenly contest. We are not seeking simply to increase the numerical size of the Church. And most importantly, we are not attempting to coerce you to believe as we do. We are inviting you to hear the restored truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ so you can study, ponder, pray, and come to know for yourself if the things we are sharing with you are true...Our invitations to you are not an attempt to diminish your religious tradition or life experience. Bring all that you know is true, good, and praiseworthy—and test our message. Just as Jesus beckoned two of His disciples to “come and see” (John 1:39), so we urge you to come and see if the restored gospel of Jesus Christ enlarges and enriches that which you already believe to to be true."
I challenge you all to READ THIS TALK, WATCH this video^ and PRAY about who you could share it with. 

SCOTTISH W.O.T.W: "knackered" 
definition: exhausted, get tired through overuse or great stress. 
Sentence: If "knackered" doesn't describe missionary work I don't know what does.
