Tuesday-
MORNING STUDY: I studied in 1 Nephi 18. In verse 2 it talks about how Nephi built a ship not after the manner of men, but after the manner of God. I was thinking and compared it to missionary work, but also life. Laman and Lemuel were confused when he started building they didn't believe he could do such a task but we see that when things are done God's way they work out. (So much that they humbled themsleves) When we live our lives the way God would have us live, things work out!
We had district council this morning (we meet as a group of missionaries each week to improve our skills) we then met with Rogger taught him the law of chastity- not gonna lie it was a bit awkward (it isn't usually), but he still agreed to live it. He talked to his parents about meeting with us he (and we) were a bit nervous becuase they are very traditional and catholic, but he told us today that they were totally cool with it. (So cool) I got asked out by a drunk Romanian on the street. He told me he was looking for a wife... I said I couldn't help him with that and tried to switch the conversation to God...long story short it didn't work.
Wednesday-
We street contacted all morning with little success, but we were able to teach our friend Francisco- he is super cool he just wants to know truth but feels guilty asking for it. We helped him to see that it is okay to ask Haha #James1:5. We then taught Vanessa (who was just baptized) a little more about Joseph Smith's history. She was breastfeeding her 2.5 year old the entire time it was a bit awkward... Haha also she's almost 3... anyway. We then taught this cute girl from Mexico names Maveth and she brought a friend!! Afterward we taught Ernesto a guy from Mexico who has THEE deepest voice it's crazy! But halfway through the lesson as we were about to invite him to be baptized, this man starts yelling at us asking us to answer one question. "When was Jesus Chrsit born?" We tried to ignore it but it became un avoidable when he got in our face dropping the F bomb every other word! He tried to tell our friend to stop meeting with us and that we were telling lies. Luckily his English was not the best so he didn't understand a word. After the fact we weren't too fazed , we actually started laughing when he left. (He was an x-satan worshipper and had a tattoo of a crab on his face.) #poorguy I was just sad we weren't able to invite him to be baptized because the spirit was far gone.🤦♀️
Thursday- We taught Rogger again and did some finding.
Friday- After doing weekly planning we discovered Rogger's baptism was only a few weeks away and we still had a lot to teach him. We decided we might have to meet almost every day for the next week in order to teach him everything. We were a little nervous about what he thought about that, so we texted and asked him if it would be alright if we met for just 30 minutes everyday. He responded the next day saying "Daily meetings seem nice, but we better do 1 hour a day" We were shook. Haha like I said before #golden
